check out the cool new site we built for an LA-based company “Merch Method” that creates/distributes merchandise for bands …Merch Method is an artist driven entertainment and music merchandising company, with services ranging from online stores to wholesale, with a full tour department.
It was built from the ground up using osCommerce as the framework for the shopping cart.

NAMAC 2007 CONFERENCE – October 17 thru 20 in Austin, TX

The National Alliance for Media Arts and Culture (NAMAC) is a nonprofit association whose membership comprises a diverse mix of organizations and individuals dedicated to a common goal: the support and advocacy of independent film, video, audio and digital arts.

The 3 day conference will feature special guests filmmaker Richard Linklater, Al Jazeera English’s Jean Garner, and The 21st Century Project’s Gary Chapman.

BlackGeye posted a “Gone Fishin’” sign in the window, dusted off their Vans and flip flops, and walked down the street to the (haunted) Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel for the very nearly interesting but essential “Search and Media Conference” July 19-20, 2007.

The conference was SO chock full of experts and vital information that we had to actually pay attention – - – even during the poolside parties. ugh. Being that SEARCH is vital to ensure that people actually SEE all the brilliant content we’re creating, we learned new tricks and tools to get our message to the world. Go nerds!

To better serve our clients and enhance internal communication among our developers every hour of every day, BlackGeye has initiated company-wide usage of “Basecamp” project management software – - – free, safe and secure.

Basecamp is super easy to use with an intuitive interface that allows clients to upload files into one central source and it facilitates communication with everyone involved in a project, all in a safe, secure & private online environment.

The BlackGeye creative and technical teams will gather in Los Angeles June 19-20 for a 2-day CS3 “Creative License Conference”.

The content-rich two day conference in Los Angeles will feature 40 sessions with leading industry experts – including many from Adobe – lending an opportunity for professionals in all areas (web, print, marketing, etc.) to network, exchange ideas and inspiration.

BlackGeye lead developers will pack up their buffalo plaid and head north of the border to attend the (sold out) nextMEDIA – The Future of Digital Content – Conference June 8-10, 2007 in Banff, Canada.

(special TMI note – the last time BlackGeye’s Creative Director was in Banff, she projectile vomited repeatedly over its precious landmarks after a shaky hydrofoil ride…)

nextMEDIA will feature Interactive Exchange Sessions, Digital Delivery Briefings and networking opportunities with the world’s leading content creators & innovators.

BlackGeye New Media’s veteran multimedia designers have teamed up with Project Gaian, Inc., a groovy LA-based nonprofit organization formed to increase public awareness of alternative energy sources, renewable resources, and eco-friendly ways of living all via a “Mobile Earth Laboratory” that travels across the US.

BlackGeye team members will help Project Gaian develop their branding (logos/image-artwork), create their solicitation campaign collateral like print/catalog appeals, create and maintain their website, and also develop educational DVDs for widescale (international) distribution.
